The network is meant to stimulate collaboration between Swedish and Italian universities.
Despite the reduction of activities during the pandemic, Swetaly managed to organize a digital seminar series in each theme. These seminars have provided the participants with opportunities to expand their individual networks, compare national strategies and discuss current research trends.
The network aims to include and support early-career researchers and researchers at risk in its activities.
So far, the main way to engage was by participating in the digital Swetaly seminars.
We are now planning on-site meetings that will provide further networking opportunities.
Swetaly welcomes ideas and suggestions for activities from all its members.
A decision at management level is required for a university to become member in Swetaly. Get in touch with Sarah Blichfeldt for more information.
There is no external funding source just yet.
The network activities are funded by the members themselves, for example the planning and hosting of digital seminars and workshops.
The three coordinating universities initially agreed to host an on-site event each. The other member universities agreed to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
Not yet.
We do hope that member universities will consider providing small Swetaly seed grants to start collaboration projects.
Each member university has chosen contact persons for each Swetaly theme, and an overall contact person (typically from the international office).
It is the responsibility of the contact persons to distribute invitations and other news from Swetaly within the university, and to facilitate participation in the network activities.
