UGOT Challenges

UGOT Challenges is a research initiative where the University of Gothenburg invests 300 million SEK in research on global societal issues.

The initiative is based on the idea that strong interdisciplinary research is needed to solve the current global societal challenges. Six research centres are included, which are all based on important societal issues.

Start 2016

The research initiative started in 2016 and will continue for six years. The initiative includes fifty million SEK per year. The initiative is called UGOT Challenges, which stands for University of Gothenburg Centers for Global Societal Challenges.

Vision 2020

According to Vision 2020 some of the University's objectives focus on quality driven research in an inspiring environment and that the university will take on its social role by being a responsible and global engaged university.
