Admission to third-cycle studies

Only applicants who can be offerd supervision and otherwise acceptable conditions for study as well as proper financing will be admitted to third-cycle studies.

To be eligible for third-cycle studies must you meet the general entry requirements:

  1. has been awarded a second-cycle qualification,
  2. has satisfied the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the second-cycle, or
  3. has acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in some other way in Sweden or abroad.

In addition there may be specific entry requirements for a specific subject. These specific entry requirements are to be find in the general study syllabus for the subject area in question.

Call for application

All positions for third-cycle studies that will lead to a doctoral studentship will have a call for application and admission will be in competition with other applicants. You will find call for application for third-cycle studies in the job application portal.

The call for a third-cycle studyposition are to include information about:

  • the subject area in question
  • financing of the announced position
  • the assessment criteria used to assess applicants' ability to benefit from the studies
  • the degree that the announced position will lead to upon completion of the studies

 Admission decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
