International House opens its doors

News: Aug 30, 2021

The doors are now being open at International House Gothenburg, a new meeting place for internationally recruited talents. It offers activities, services and guidance for easy integration into Swedish society – all in one place!

International House Gothenburg offers support and advice on everything from career development and ways of expanding professional networks to the functioning of the Swedish school system and how business is done in Sweden. Additionally, it runs several development programmes preparing people for the Swedish labour market. Support and activities for accompanying partners and families are also provided.

Led by Move to Gothenburg (in which the University of Gothenburg is a partner), International House is a collaboration between City of Gothenburg, Business Region Göteborg and Region Västra Götaland.

"International House is an important complement to the support that Welcome Services and the departments offer internally at the university. It can help strengthen how we take care of internationally recruited talents. Offering accompanying people information about the labour market and helping them to establish networks are also often critical. We see that International House will fill a need here," comments Jennie Knutsson, the university’s head of Human Resources.

The opening ceremony for International House Gothenburg is on 2 September.
