From 1 August, the University of Gothenburg will partly receive a new management team. Carina Mallard becomes the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Torbjörn Lundh the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor responsible for issues regarding outreach and cooperation.
Two of the current Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Göran Landberg and Fredrika Lagergren Wahlin, will become Advisers to the Vice-Chancellors on special research issues and on specific collaboration issues.
”Carina Mallard and Torbjörn Lundh have shown great enthusiasm for their new assignments. They will also have a solid foundation to stand on, as the new Advisers to the Vice-Chancellors will be able to guide them. I look forward to working together with Carina and Torbjörn and to continue working with Göran and Fredrika,” says Vice-Chancellor Eva Wiberg.
Exactly what the division of duties between the Deputy Vice-Chancellors and the Advisers to the Vice-Chancellors will look like is not yet decided, but it is clear from the management that the scope of the Deputy Vice-Chancellors’ duties has increased over the last 10-15 years.
”I therefore believe that this new arrangement of Deputy Vice-Chancellors and Advisers to the Vice-Chancellors in the areas of research and collaboration will serve the organization well,” says Eva Wiberg.
All assignments start on 1 August 2021. The assignments as Deputy Vice-Chancellors are 80% of full-time employment and will run until 30 June 2023. The assignments as Advisers to the Vice-Chancellors are 30% of full-time and will run until 31 July 2022.
There is also a Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Gothenburg; Mette Sandoff, who is responsible for issues regarding education, and her assignment will continue as before.
